UFC 143 Weigh In Results

February 03, 2012 by Casey Hofhenke

UFC 143 is now official with all fighters making weight today in Las Vegas.
Carlos Condit and his opponent Nick Diaz both came in weighing 169 pounds for their showdown Saturday night for the UFC interim welterweight title. The capacity crowd actually brought out the “boo birds” for Condit, who weighed in first. Diaz walked out to a huge ovation, clearly signifying his rise to prominence in the UFC spotlight. Both men looked comfortable, a sign that the weight cut wasn’t an issue, and ready to make this fight live up to its billing.
As has been the case throughout the build-up of this fight, both men showed each other respect during the face-off as well as the post weigh-in interviews with Joe Rogan.
“Nick Diaz is the toughest guy I’ve ever fought,” said Condit. “I’m as prepared as I’ve ever been. I cannot wait to get out there and do this thing.”
Diaz kept it short and sweet, “I’m here to represent Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu or I’m ready to take my ass whooping. It’s whatever.”
Weighing in exactly the same, but sporting much different physics, Roy Nelson and Fabricio Werdum both came in at 246 pounds for their heavyweight affair and the card’s co-main event.
UFC 143 takes place Saturday night, February 4th, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Don’t forget to make your picks in our CageSide King pick ‘em game. It’s free to enter, and this event’s top three pickers will receive a free shirt courtesy of Caged Art Wear, Traditional Warrior Apparel.
